New Word Recorded as Documented Item of Soywax History

If you want more information on the original soywax source you can go to the website: www.soyawax.com.

The Iowa Soybean Board and the Soyfoods Center have both provided extensive research and documentaion that Chandler Guild co-founder, Michael Richards was the first in the world to invent soybean wax. Mr. Richards now has one more bit of history recorded for posterity... The Oxford English Dictionary! Learn more in this article.

Revisiting Scent Throw

I am in the process of looking for a new FO supplier. I've been using many oils from Nature's Garden, but I'm not satisfied that these are the best quality scents I can get.

I saw that someone else on here said they were trying Lebermuth oils. I would like to know if you had any success? I've received about 40 1 oz. samples from Lebermuth for testing purposes and I just cannot get them to work in candles. I've tried different waxes/additives, etc and still no scent throw at all. I've been told by 2 other candlemakers (not soy users) that Lebermuth should be avoided for candle scents because they're not strong enough. Any ideas here?

Thanks....
How to Ship Candles

Hi! I generally make container candles and I'm curious about what others here do to prepare their candles for shipping? Is it wise to add something to the wax to harden it so the candles don't crack during shipping? What shipping method do you use? I'm interested in any ideas I can get!
Thanks,
Best Rate UPS rates from Wax Warehouse Partners

Warehouse Partners/Best UPS Rate

Brian Bock/The Candlelier has just pointed out that some Chandlers would have a lower UPS rate from one wax warehouse partner rather than another depending on the exact location of each Chandler.

All of the wax warehouse partners work as a team. If any Chandler determines that a better UPS rate is available from one warehouse location than another just contact your own regional warehouse partner. Let them know the location that you want your wax shipped from to achieve the best rate UPS. The warehouse partners are all committed to providing excellent service to all Chandlers. They will coordinate their effort to achieve this.

Closed fitments for jar lids available

I have closed fitments available for 4" diameter lids. I bought them for my Anchor Hocking 11 oz, 16 oz and 26 oz Country Kitchen Collection jars so I can put fun stuff up in the lids to add interest (peppermint candies, potpourri, cinnamon sticks, silk flowers, soybeans, etc.). My lids fit a 3" diameter opening. The glass lids they fit (before fitment is applied) measure 1 1/4" diameter on the inside and 1 3/4" diameter on the outside where the fitment goes. I believe these would fit most of these standard sized lids.

Wax is, indeed, ready to ship

Hello fellow chandlers! I just wanted to let you know that I contacted my wax distributor (Melonie Throne) and ordered some votive wax. I was in a pinch to get a big order out, but I did not relay that to her. I want you to know that I received the wax the NEXT day! I know this may be a bit much to expect on a regular basis, but it left me elated.

Also, I ordered a bunch of votive trays and a heat gun from the Belbecks (Ewe-R-Wooly folks). They also arrived post haste and in good order. The heat gun has already out lasted 2 I bought from a different supplier.

I encourage you all to support our chandlers in their distribution efforts. I know what they're doingi is not easy when we all have a million other things we need to do for our own businesses. Good job guys! Customer service is where it's at!
