Where is everyone?

Here, here. I have been anxiously awaiting news about soy wax. I was certain that someone was developing a pillar blend with less problems and that this would be THE place to hear about it, but after several months of watching this site and seeing almost NO activity I guess this is a defunct site now...???

Please see our recent annoucement with regard to re-energizing The Chandler Guild to take its next steps forward.

In a nutshell, it took a LOT of volunteer efforts by a very few 'first movers' to get the Guild to where we did during our first formative year. In addition, (with the exception of this year's domain name registration which Soyawax Mike has paid) all expenses of the Guild to web site have been paid by Sohodojo Jim and Timlynn. Since none of us are financially independent (not by a LONG shot), this has put strains on what we could do and accomplish. On top of that, I donated an extraordinary amount of time creating and maintaining this web site and nurturing this community through its initial growing pains.

Fact is, this 'early movers' group burnt ourselves out getting to the point of holding the Guild's first annual Congress. Then, in a classic case of bad timing, the Congress ended just when small independent candle makers need to hunker down and 'make hay while the sun shines' (the holiday sales season). This meant that our newly elected Table of Twelve (the Guild's Executive Committee) was diverted from swinging into action following the Congress.

So when you add up the personal burn out, lack of funding, and bad timing with launching our T12 and SIGs, you get what you have observed... an unfortunate dormant period after an initial period of wild exuberance.

But we're rested and getting re-energized. And we've reflected a bunch on 'lessons learned' from our first wave of organizing efforts. These lessons are being taken into consideration as we strategize our next steps in taking the Guild forward.
