Making Pillars

My husband and I having purchased a 6" pillar mold (I believe)..to begin making pillar candles. Our clients have requested them. However, we haven't made these before so need some advice.
Do we use the pillar/votive wax? Melting temp?

Any helps/suggestions would be appreciated!
