Wholeselling

Hi,
I have a sick child and am home today.

I believe everything happens for a reason!

The reason my 6 year old got ill yesterday and I am home today?

It was meant for me to be home and receive a telephone call.

I received a telephone call this morning from someone who wants to carry some of my products in her store.

I am scared, but excited! So excited I have not even called my husband to tell him yet!

I had to share with you all because, you guys understand how I am feeling right about now!

The store owner does not live in my area and thus I would have to ship everything to her.

She purchased a bar of my soap a month ago and liked it.

I know how to figure out my wholesale prices, however, how do I figure out the shipping?

Do I add that to the price? Do I ask for shipping and handling?

Any help will be appreciated!

TIA.

Good for you! I have my candles in 4 stores now in a 150 mile radius so I was able to deliver the first order to all of them. The 3 closest are within 30 miles and I hand deliver to them. It's good for them to see your face and get to know you rather than an invoice. It's an added bonus for me because they give me sizeable discounts on any purchases I make in their stores! I do all of my gift shopping at their stores with about a 40-50% discount on everything I buy. By the way, what is everyone charging for their votives on a wholesale order?

Hi Isabel,

I can imagine how exited you must be. As you know I have several wholesale accounts and more than happy to share some info with you.

I am sure you will tell me all about it Saturday at the Flea Market :).

Usually the buyer will pay shipping charges. If I do wholesale accounts inside of our State I am willing to meet the buyer halfway if they purchase more than $500 worth in wholesale orders.

I am looking forward talking to you Saturday,

Silvia

Wholesale & Shipping

Hello Isabel,
I am really excited for you! I only have a few accounts and can remember the first one like it was yesterday.

I, like Brian, usually pick up the shipping cost of the first order. Usually I take the order to them. Sometimes that can be a ways away. Like Monday I traveled 2 1/2 hours to deliver an order. I felt it was well worth it because I got to actually meet the person face to face and get a better relationship going. I do however, have an account in Colorado that I shipped the first order to. I can't see myself driving to Colorado! That is my way. I am sure there are as many ways to do it as there are ways to make candles. But at least you have some ideas to work from.

Brian covered the issue of shipping cost and where to find it.

Hope that helps some.

CONGRATULATIONS! AND WAY TO GO!!!!!!

Hi again Isabel,
I think it is mostly expected that the buyer will be paying the shipping charges just as they would on a retail purchase.
Once you know the weight you can find the shipping zone and rates online at UPS, FedEx, and USPS.
I have offered free shipping on a first time order to secure the customer and get my products on their shelves. I have always received additional orders from these folks even though they had to pay shipping after the first order.
