Clay flower pots

I have several clay flower pots and I need to seal the hole in the bottom. Does anyone know what type of product I should use? I also want to paint them (inside and out) can I use any acrylic paint or does it have to be a candle paint?

Terra Cotta Pots

Robin,
I glue a penny over the hole (couldn't find anything cheaper). But, before I pour a candle into the pot, I coat the inside with Modge Podge to prevent wax seepage through the pourous clay.
Your paint may have the same effect as the Modge Podge. I recommend that you paint and fill one to test this theory.
