The Chandler Guild is pleased to announce the formation of our Web Site Technical and Editorial SIG (Special Interest Group). This team was formed by volunteer delegates attending the Chandler Guild Congress. Please join us in congratulating and thanking the following Guild members who will help to evolve and maintain the Chandler Guild website:

  • Rich Dickeson
  • Brenda Hellweg
  • Kelvin Morgan
  • Jerry Painter
  • Jan Stegen
  • Jim Salmons
The SIG leader is 'Sohodojo Jim' Salmons, the original designer and developer of the Chandler Guild web site. The formation of the SIG will allow Jim to turn over routine tasks in the administration and maintenance of the web site so he can concentrate on much-needed technical development necessary to support the evolution of the Guild. Guild members with technical skills and experience, such as Rich Dickeson, will also be involved in the technical development of this web site.

The highest priority for the Web Site Tech and Editorial SIG will be a major upgrade of the site to support public and private content authoring and viewing. This means there will be a level of content accessible to the general public and, more importantly, sections of the website that will only be accessible to Guild members. Such a distinction in content access is essential to the evolution of the Chandler Guild. This is a significant and non-trivial upgrade to the web site infrastructure.

The members of the SIG have a wide range of experience and interest motivating their involvement in this team. Some members have significant technical backgrounds. Others have enthusiasm and interest and want to learn about website development and maintenance. All are welcome as there is a wide range of activity that will fall under the domain of this team.

If you were not at the Congress and want to get involved on the Web Site Tech and Editorial SIG, don't despair. Simply reply in a comment to this announcement and express your interest.

Again, please join me in congratulating and thanking Rich, Brenda, Kelvin, Jerry, and Jan for volunteering their time and energy to help with the development and maintenance of the Chandler Guild web site.

Oh, you betcha!

Hi Susan,

It was a pleasure meeting and getting to know you at the Congress. I remember your telling me of your interest and experience that will be most helpful in growing the Guild and its expression through this web site. So, yes, absolutely we welcome your involvement in the Web Site Technical and Editorial SIG. As the Guild grows, editorial aspects of the site will become increasingly important. I am sure your skills and experience will come into play in this regard.

Also, as we've discussed and will hopefully be announcing 'officially' soon, your interest in helping us organize the membership aspect of the Guild will have a natural intersection with your interest in the Guild's web site.

Thanks again for your 'multi-dimensional' interest in the Chandler Guild. By the way, did you see how nice your Congress Trade Show photo came out?
