-- Announcing the Sharecroppers Ball --
They say that all work and no play makes for a dull chandler. Well,
there won't be any dull chandlers at the first annual Chandler Guild
Continental Congress judging by the exciting social events that Mike
Richards has arranged for our enjoyment. On Friday evening while folks are
first arriving, we will be left pretty much to our own devices. We'll have
recorded music if everyone turns out to be too shy to display their musical
talents. Friday evening will be a good time for informal conversation and
face-to-face introductions as many of us meet each other for the first time.
But Saturday night will be an exciting experience for all attending the
Congress. Mike has arranged for a rare musical treat to headline the
Sharecroppers' Ball that will follow the Soy Joy Banquet. Founding members
of the underground sensation, Urban Farmers, are pulling together a
talent-filled pickup band, the Sharecroppers, who will delight us with an
eclectic musical and dancing thrill. The music will be their responsibility, the
dancing is up to us! Learn more about this exciting addition to the Congress
agenda if you here:

-- Delegate Registration Report --
As of last Wednesday, 61 delegates from 12 states and Canada have
preregistered for the Chandler Guild Continental Congress! Considering the
short notice and that this is the first of our annual meetings, these are
excellent numbers. But we're not done yet. There is still one week left for
you to register for the Congress. So fuel up the Chevy, arrange a car pool
ride at the Chandler Guild web site, grab a Greyhound bus ticket, or head
right to the CheapTickets.com web site and make your travel arrangements
today.
Then head here for complete registration information for the Chandler
Guild First Continental Congress and:

Your participation is vital to the evolving success of the Chandler
Guild. We're shooting for about 80 Chandlers at the Congress, so if you're
on the fence about attending, now is the time to decide if you'll join us in
Cedar Rapids.
-- Guildmembers Internal Trade Show --
All Congress delegates are encouraged to bring samples of their products
and marketing materials for display at the internal trade show. If you have
supplies or services that you would like to wholesale to other members of
the Chandler Guild community, bring samples, price lists, and descriptive
literature to share.
The Guildmembers' Internal Trade Show at the Congress will be an
excellent opportunity for community members to share valuable candlemaking
and business best practices. Learn more here:

-- Calling All Reporters, Photographers and Videographers --
Unfortunately not all Guildmembers will be able to join us in Cedar
Rapids for the Congress. These folks will have an insatiable desire to know
who was there, what was said, and who will be doing what as we move forward
with the evolution of the Guild. To capture and distribute this vital
information, we need your help if you will be attending the Congress as a
delegate. Bring your laptop computers, digital cameras, and digital video
recorders to gather as much information as possible for sharing with other
community members.
Enthusiasm is more important than experience. Learn more here:

and please post a comment indicating your willingness to help with this
important activity.
