Retail Candle Packaging

Hi Everyone,

Can someone share where I might find quality votive retail packaging? I am looking for the clam shell type packaging that Yankee uses for their votives. I have a shop and I have run out of retail packaging for my votives. I would like to find a container that holds 13 votives. Like a Bakers dozen kind.. Buy 12 get 1 free sort of thing. I am pretty desperate at this point so any help would be much appreciated.

I would love to hear from some of our members. Please private e-mail me if you wish to 'chat' or please post your hello's on the forum.

With warmest regards,
Buying Power

Hi Everyone,

Unfortuanetly, it doesn't look as if we will be having a Chandler conference this year. One of the things I was going to address would have been 'buying power' amongst all of the chandlers. Well, I have decided to address this anyway, especially with the holiday season approaching. Is there any one who would be willing to get together (via e-mail and phone) that would want to discuss this with me?

Shipping Candles

Hello friends,

A while ago someone posted a question about shipping candles. I think it was Candlelier Brian who commented on using 2 boxes when shipping. I just wanted to let everyone know that we shipped candles to Florida from Indiana and they arrived fine. We wrapped the candle with a small piece of bubble wrap and placed it in a box and placed that box in another box. The candles arrived safely and this will be my mode of shipping candles from now on.

Frosted Tea Light Boxes

Hi All,

Do any of you use the frosted tealight boxes from Bittercreek?
We really like the quality and the look of the finished product. However, the cost is .89 per box. I went directly to the manfacturer of the boxes and if I order a case (500) I can get them for .54 a box. Would anyone be willing to split a case or purchase some of these boxes from me? I will gladly ship them to you.
I would like to order these ASAP, so if your interested please call me or email me back.

Frangrance problem

Has anyone experienced a problem with candles smelling wonderful in the container and then after lighting there is no scent throw? I've purchased some Maple Pecan scent from Candles and Supplies and it smells great in the jar, but I can't smell anything while its burning. I've had a customer complaint and now I'm concerned. At first I thought it was just me. Are there any safe additives that can be used to guarantee a strong scent throw?

Hi Everyone,

Curious to know what everyone is doing with your candle businesses to prepare for the holidays?
We're going to introduce candle baskets and some new projects that were working on that are not quite perfected.
What are some of your favorite holiday scents?
Has anyone been doing local craft fairs? How did you do?
Just want to keep in touch and help everyone stay motivated.

Hi,

Does anyone have any knowledge of what it takes to have your products UPC coded? Is it expensive? Are there any legalities associated with the coding? Any information would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Standard Fundraising Form

Hi everyone,

I am in the process of forming my Welcome Letter to those organizations that choose to use my candles for their fundraising efforts. Before I rack my brain figuring out what to say, I was wandering if anyone has a standard letter that they use and if they would be willing to share it.

Thanks,
Merchant Account Fraud Alert!

Chandler Friends,

I want to take this opportunity to share something bad that happened to me in hopes that none of you will ever go through this.
I own a store in North Liberty, In. Merchant accounts (accepting credit cards) are something that all retail businesses have. They are a good thing and they provide customers with more options to purchase.

I opened my merchant account with a company in February 2003. I had no probelms and everything was working fine. In April, a gentlemen came to my store and provided paperwork showing how much money I could save if I switched to his company. The money was substantial. He showed me the newest version of a Credit card machine and the whole works.

Therapeutic Essential Oil Candles

Chandler Friends,

Before I attended the Guild I was not sure about Essential oils in candles. Only because whenever you apply heat to EO's they lose therapeutic value. I am a certified aromatherapy educator and I go to homes and hold EO presentations. I would like to incorporate my candles with EO's in to my presentations, but I am not sure how. I was taught two different ways at the guild to make EO candles. One way was to add the EO just like we would fragrance. The other way is to add a few drops of the EO to the melt pool of a natural candle. Can anyone share some EO tips with me? Am I expecting to much therapeutic value out of a candle with EO's? Any techniques would be greatly appreciated.
