Scent Throw Revisited

Chandler Guild Training Ground | Fragrance, EO, and Dye Research SIG | Supplier Recommendations

Hi fellow chandlers,
One area that I believe we can all be very helpful to one another is sharing info on which scents give us a good throw.
The way it could work is anyone having trouble with throw in a particular could post that information and then anyone who has experienced good throw with that fragrance might be willing to share the supplier's name so the one having trouble might buy a sample from that supplier to see if it works for them.

Candle Coloring Tip

Candle Production and Quality SIG | Chandler Guild Training Ground | Candlemaking Best Practices | Supplier Recommendations

One of the toughest things to do in lighter colored candles is get a uniform look from batch to batch when using a very small amount of dye. Colors such as Ivory which for my application requires a tiny amount of dye so small I had no way of getting exactly the same amount in every batch.
My solution for ivory was to melt two dye blocks of brown into 2 lbs of wax. I then poured this mixture into tart molds.

First Continental Congress

Chandler Guild Training Ground

I was one of those who was not sure about attending until just short of the registration deadline. So many tmes I have been to seminars and conventions that were just so much hokey. But not this one. What a knowlegeable group we had there. I learned plenty, more than I could fully absorb and will be picking brains for some time to come. Everyone is this business has something to pass on to another. There are so many variables, it is just impossible to know everything.

Soyawax and Essential Oils... Suggestions, please

Chandler Guild Training Ground | Candlemaking Best Practices

I am really interested in experimenting with some essential oils in our wax. Have any of you tried this and if so what outcome did you achieve? I believe there is an excellent market in the health industry such as in health food stores, massage studios etc.
